About Me

Where I’m From

After 18 fulfilling years in Ann Arbor, Michigan, I left the most friendly peninsula around for a larger city with more opportunities. I found myself in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for an undergraduate education at Carnegie Mellon University. Though the University itself often lends itself to a very focused education, I made a point of seeking out a well-rounded and significantly varied education. I took classes across over a dozen different departments, ranging from Organic Chemistry to Portrait Photography to Interaction Design to Practicum in Child Development. I ended up with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology with an additional Major in Human-Computer Interaction and a minor in Photography and Digital Imaging. You can view my resume here.

What I’m Doing Now

I’ve made it a point to continue on my well-rounded education by constantly seeking new challenges. I currently find myself to be the Product Manager at Niche Inc., a company driven to provide you with insight from people who have already been in your shoes, to help you make the right life choices and thrive in those decisions. I also spend a lot of my free time doing freelance web design work for various clients. Additionally, I enjoy side hobbies of black and white film photography and building furniture using repurposed materials.

How We Can Work Together

I put my drive to be well-rounded into all of my work, leading way to unique designs and a customized and personal experience for my clients. Here are some of the things that I can do for you:

Website Layout And Design

Getting yourself a presence on the web, or revamping your old look can really do wonders for your company or organization. I am a seasoned web designer who can provide you with plenty of options that focus on a positive user friendly experience.

Graphic Design And Branding

Whether you are starting a new business or need to tweak how you present yourself, the first place to start is branding. I can help you with logo design, business cards, letter head, brochures, flyers, and various other documents.

Website Development

Once you’ve got your branding and designs down, you actually need a site that works and functions well. I consider myself to be an expert in HTML and CSS, well versed in Javascript (JQuery and AJAX), PHP, ASP.NET (C#), and have some experience working with MySQL and databases. I can even help you figure out hosting, work on search engine optimization strategies with you, or build out content management systems as well.

User Experience Design And Testing

As a trained user experience researcher and designer, I build my sites around making the best possible user experience. I build wireframes and flow charts, run think aloud sessions and heuristic evaluations, and can then use that information to inform a series of recommendations or the designs that I’m working on.

How We Can Get Started

If you are interested in working with me on any sort of project, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me. We can discuss what you need for your project, how my pricing works, and I can build out a proposal and contract from there. Remember, I like challenges, so don’t be shy!
