J’Burgh, a non profit organization serving Pittsburgh’s Jewish graduate students and young professionals, needed a site overhaul. The Director of J’Burgh approached me (I have been involved with the group) to simply be the website administrator, but I convinced him that the site needed a design makeover. I created a new design, which was approved. I then implemented the site using WordPress for a blog, and the rest of the site using HTML, CSS, and PHP.
Additionally, since the initial relaunch of the site, I’ve worked on other features for the site including using wordpress as a content management system with database content, adding in new content pages, and integrating other communication platforms like Youtube, Flickr, and Google calendar.
Website Layout And Design
1 Potential Design, 1 Final Design
This project was less about a redesign, and more about updating and sprucing up the original site. I added some simple elements to make the site more modern, while also adding a little functionality.
The client wanted to add a blog, so I integrated WordPress, built some header and footer templates, and added additional editing functionality for them to easily alter their content.
